Privacy Policy
Covers the Chrome extensions DarkMail Checker and TubeTidy, published by Lyle. Last updated 12 October 2026.
DarkMail Checker
DarkMail Checker shows your unread Gmail email in the browser toolbar.
- Where your mail comes from. Your browser fetches your unread mail directly from Google (
mail.google.com) using the Google accounts you are already signed in to in that browser. No request goes to the developer or to any other third party. - What is handled. Your account email addresses, and for unread messages the sender, subject, preview text and, when you open a conversation, its content. Quick actions you click (mark as read, archive, delete, spam, star) are sent directly from your browser to Google.
- Gmail action token. To perform those actions the extension reads one Gmail cookie (
GMAIL_AT) onmail.google.com, the same token Gmail's own web page uses. If that cookie is missing, the extension briefly loads Gmail in an invisible frame inside the extension so Google can set it; nothing from that page is read. The token is used only in requests to Google and is never sent anywhere else. - Local storage. Your settings and the most recent unread list are kept in your browser's extension storage on your device so the popup opens quickly. They are removed when you uninstall the extension.
- Images in emails. When you open a conversation in the reading view, images inside that email may load from the location chosen by its sender, just as they would in Gmail. Scripts in emails never run.
TubeTidy
TubeTidy helps you mark many YouTube recommendations as "Not interested". It works on YouTube pages in your browser, clicking YouTube's own menu items for you. Its settings are kept in your browser's extension storage. It does not collect or transmit any data.
What we do not do
- We do not collect, log or transmit your personal data, email content or browsing activity to the developer or anyone else.
- We do not sell or transfer user data, and do not use it for advertising, profiling or creditworthiness.
- We use data only to provide each extension's single purpose described above.
Use of information received from Google follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
